<p style="TEXT-INDENT: 2em">昨天（7月30日），英国著名足球杂志《442》旗下的专业足球网站《talentspotter》评选出十大最有价值自由球员名单，前中国队长榜上有名。与郑智一起上榜的，有中国球迷非常熟悉的维杜卡和海瑟林克。值得一提的是，除了郑智以外，其他9名上榜球员此前都效力于欧洲顶级联赛，甚至不乏巴塞罗那、费内巴切和拉科鲁尼亚这样的豪门。郑智所在的查尔顿，是唯一一支二级联赛球队（08-09赛季）。郑智也是除维杜卡之外，唯一上榜的亚洲球员。</p>
<p style="TEXT-INDENT: 2em">文章称，如果08-09赛季郑智的身体一直保持在健康状态下，也许查尔顿就不会从英冠降级了。随后，文章简单回顾了郑智的三年查尔顿生涯：2006年，郑智以租借形势加盟查尔顿；尽管那个赛季查尔顿从英超降级，但郑智的表现令人印象深刻。赛季结束，郑智以200万英镑的身价正式转会；此后，郑智一直是查尔顿全队表现最出色的球员之一，并屡屡有传闻称他将重返英超。2008年夏天，郑智本有望加盟升班马西布罗姆维奇，但最终还是留在伦敦，却因为伤病错失了大半个赛季——当他回归的时候，查尔顿已经在事实上降级，郑智无力回天了。而现在，郑智完全康复，他是英超小球队与英冠强队追逐的目标。 </p>
